+ When should I order/send out my invitations?

I strongly recommend ordering wedding invitations 6 months prior to the wedding date. If your wedding is in May, order your invites in November. If your wedding is in June, order your invites in December, etc.

Envelopes and a final guest list should ideally be delivered to the calligrapher a minimum of 4-5 weeks prior to your mail-out date. This allows for time for addressing and return to clients for stuffing/stamping prior to mailing. The earlier you are able to get the invitations out, the earlier you can request your RSVP's be returned, which will help immensely for day-of planning.

+How many extra envelopes/place cards should I order for overage?

My contract requires an extra 20% beyond your final number. Orders of less than 100 require a minimum of 15 extra.

+Is there anything I should consider before ordering my envelopes?

If your guest list includes long names or if you plan to include middle names, a small envelope will not be suitable. I recommend A9 or A10 size invitation envelopes for clients who plan to include middle names. I would avoid metallic envelopes, as ink does not adhere well to this type of paper. Fibrous paper (ex: Handmade paper) is extremely difficult to write on and will incur an additional charge.

+How soon should I book a calligrapher?

As soon as possible! I highly recommend booking your calligrapher a minimum of 3 months prior to your desired mail-out date. Calligraphy slots fill up quickly during wedding season, so please reach out as soon as possible to reserve a spot on the calendar.

+How should my list be formatted for submission?

Please refer to my Excel template here:
Tara Marie Calligraphy Excel Template

Lists must be submitted in an Excel or Google Sheets document. Each line should be in a separate column.

Example:
Name | Guest Name | Apartment/Unit/Suite | Street Address| City, State | Zip | Inner Envelope Name 1| Inner Envelope Name 2

*Usps.com states that Apartment/Suite/Unit designations should appear above the street address.

Please note that your estimated timeline will not begin until the contract is signed, envelopes are in-hand, and your address list is approved.

+What is spot calligraphy?

Spot Calligraphy is handwritten calligraphy that has been digitized. I work with your stationery designer to provide items to incorporate into your invitation design. Spot Calligraphy can also be used for signs, menus, programs, and more. There are a million ways that spot calligraphy can be used in your wedding or event details!

+What is your pricing?

Outer Envelope pricing starts at $3.25/each. Place cards start at $2.00/each and Escort Cards start at $2.50/each. Minimum orders are $50.00. Please contact me for pricing specific to your project.

+What is your turnaround time?

It completely depends on my availability at the moment. Please contact me for specific timing. I strongly recommend planning to have your envelopes and final guest list to me a minimum of 4 weeks prior to your mail-out date if you are already on my calendar. This timeline may vary depending on the quantity of your order, as well as my availability.

+Can you work on items if I live out of state?

Absolutely! If you, your stationer, or your wedding planner can mail me your items, I'm more than happy to work on them and mail them right back to you.
